VerifiMe - a shareable digital identity

A digital identity like VerifiMe allows you to be your own ID boss. You can easily prove who you are online for work, education, and personal use, putting you back in control of your personal identity for good. It's a secure way to verify your identity when accessing online services.

How it works

You can create digital identities in VerifiMe, for both individual purposes and for organisations you control. You’ll need official documents like your driver's license, passport and/or company documentation to prove who you are. Once you have created your VerifiMe digital wallet, you can reuse it whenever you need. Each time you use your digital identity, you're asked to give consent before any of your details are shared with the service you want to access. You can roam free with your portable digital ID. VerifiMe makes things happen with secure identity verification for life’s important moments.

The Benefits

A digital identity in a VerifiMe wallet can enable the following:

Personal:

  • reduce the need to repeatedly share copies of your identity documents with third parties, which may be vulnerable to cyber-attacks.

  • peace of mind knowing your identity is safe, protected against identity crime, and only verified with those with whom you give permission.

Thanks to next-gen technologies which allow for a singular audited proof of identity, you can permission your identity status and not overshare your identity documents, bringing a more secure solution to ID verification.

Organisations:

  • save time and money through elimination of duplicate identity processes.

  • meet compliance requirements in record time.

  • deliver exceptional customer experiences by reducing friction in outdated processes

  • reduce PII management risks

  • improve customer service processes with an optimised onboarding experience.

It’s important to note that while a shareable digital identity can offer convenience and security, it also requires robust measure as seen in VerifiMe’s platform to protect users' privacy and data.

One customer, two programs: how VerifiOnce bridges Item 54 advice and Tranche 2 accounting
A customer who sees a financial planner and is then referred to an accountant to set up a company or family trust now passes through two AML/CTF regimes, run by two reporting entities, under two different sets of rules. Without the right infrastructure, that customer will be asked to prove who they are twice, within weeks of each other. This referral path is one of the most common in Australian wealth management. Since the AML/CTF reforms, it is also one of the most interesting, because the planner and the accountant now sit on either side of an important line in the legislation.

Beyond the ID Check
An identity check is where AML/CTF compliance begins, not where it ends. Since 1 July 2026, real estate agents, accountants, lawyers and other Tranche 2 businesses have carried the full weight of Australia's AML/CTF regime. Much current guidance rightly notes that an ID check alone does not cover ongoing monitoring or reporting. The practical question is how those obligations should be met, and what role a platform should play.

Introducing VerifiOnce: identity verification that travels with your customer
If you verify customers for a living, you already know the pattern. The same person walks into a transaction, gets asked for the same passport and driver's licence, and goes through the same process — for you, and then again for the next business in the chain, and the next. VerifiOnce changes that. This post is an introduction to what it is, what it isn't, and how it fits alongside VerifiMe.
